Fionne, the Canny Fugitive

Like many of the slaves in Hannibal Voss' care, Fionne was abducted at a young age, alongside her mother and sold into slavery. The young girl caught Voss' attention almost immediately, after she was discovered on the first night of her captivity. Fionne had slipped out of her chains and was attempting to free her mother when the guards caught her. The security was increased on Fionne, but the restraints did little to deter the girl. For years, Fionne would escape each new imprisonment the slavers could devise, but each time she escaped, she would soon try to free her mother, leading to her recapture. Voss realized that such an escape artist would be useless to sell as a slave, and so he began to train Fionne deliberately, secure in the fact that as long as he held the girl's mother, she would never truly escape. As the Master's games dragged onward, Voss' thoughts turned towards the troublesome captive, and he offered Fionne a true chance to escape, to win freedom for herself and her mother by fighting in the Master's games. Fionne harbors much resentment towards Voss, but a true escape is one thing she cannot afford to pass up.
